Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wine Co make organically grown and certified wines from our family-owned Willunga vineyards located in the McLaren Vale wine region of South Australia. Battle of Bosworth was established in 2001 by Joch Bosworth and Louise Hemsley-Smith. The wines take their name from the original Battle of Bosworth, fought on Bosworth Field, Leicestershire, England in 1485.
Our cellar door is an old (1850s) converted chaff shed and stables which has elevated views over our vines looking north to McLaren Vale and west to the Gulf St Vincent. We make wines with flavour, texture, purity and balance, that best express the unique characteristics of the vineyards foothills site.
